Representing KOREA in great pride with one of our greatest high-tech exporters, SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS has revealed a first of its kind mobile device to a technology driven society; a HD curved display screen! Showcasing the latest release with their HD AMOLED display, this model is soon to get a lot of hype. *granted, if you’re able to see one of these in person*
Having a curved screen of 5.7 inches and weighing at 5.43 oz, this Android 4.3 device has similar specs and programming as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
…because this will be a limited product and it’s only available for the KOREAN market, I honestly can’t wait to get my hands on this bada$$ device when I head back to KOREA early next year!! *You know me and my love for SAMSUNG products!! I absolutely must have it!* IF I’m able to get one in the next two or three months, of course I’ll be bringing over to use in Canada! *If you didn’t know already, all mobiles in Korea come unlocked so it can be used globally – given that the network you’re with can support the device* Oh yeah, for my friends, if you’d like me to pick one up for you, SAMSUNG GALAXY ROUND is priced at about 1.9 Million Won!! (in Canadian, that would be around 1099.3849 CAD)!!
I had a chance to ask my aunt (who saw the Samsung Galaxy Round when it launched in SEOUL on October 10th 2013) how the curved screen compares to flat screens. Obviously the first thing she mentioned was that, it’s a different feeling when holding it, but the curve actually makes it a lot easier to maneuver and place in your pocket! When holding the cellphone, the curved design actually makes it more comfortable while holding onto it for a long period of time.
The coolest thing about SAMSUNG GALAXY ROUND is the “roll effect” function. By holding down one side of the phone, you’re able to quickly check the notifications when on standby; no need to unlock the screen. (view image below where to hold down on the cell)
Like the SAMSUNG GALAXY ROUND, there are many models which you probably haven’t seen or heard of before, which is only available in Korea. For example, did you know that there’s this one cell where it can function as a mini projector?! *true story!* However, if you feel that you must absolutely get one, make sure you have $1,130 USD available to invest.
Fingers crossed that my travel plans don’t change and I’m able to test one when I get to SEOUL!!
P.S. We all know that when something great comes along, there are bound to be competitors. LG launched their own curved version called, “G Flex.” Let’s see which one I’ll try first.
